Well let's talk about be everywhere strategy this is a good strategy for some because of course you can reach your audience wherever they are some of the members of your audience might be readers. Some of them prefer video content and some of them might prefer audio content so of course being everywhere can engage the most amount of people. However there also drawbacks to this method which I'm going to mention in a minute. Now let's talk about benefits so the benefits of going all-in on social media is of course that you can engage different kinds of users on Twitter you will engage those who like to read on Instagram those who like imagery on YouTube you will attract everybody who likes video the same with tik-tok. However each demographics are a little bit different. So you can target all of them going all-in on social media and skipping one of them can actually be skipping part of your potential audience.
The other benefit as well is that some people who actually like the brand or already like you on social media will also follow you on the other so this way. You can actually engage people across your social media platforms and get more visibility and more engagement from your audience and that in turn can lead to more prospects for your company. So it all sounds great but what are the drawbacks well there is one big drawback. If you are small business going all-in on all platforms can be very overwhelming and very time-consuming being everywhere. A little bit can end up not being the best strategy if you have people behind you. That might help you with that absolutely go and do that if you have social media team, if you have marketing team this will be the strategy for you. However if you are a small business doing everything kind of okay will not be as profitable as doing one platform really well.

Now if we're talking about being on one platform only in this strategy you should definitely focus on what platform of your choice. Make sure you read our articles. Because we will be talking about benefits and drawbacks of each of major platforms. But if you are focusing on only one platform you have to make sure that you're doing it well. So you have to focus on what kind of content do I have to post on this platform is this a platform that will engage the type of audience that I need for my business. What kind of content should I post on this platform what kind of algorithm that the platform has which means what does the platform likes that will actually be shown to my viewers and you should also think about how this platform can convert my audience to my future leads. Just when you master this one platform you should move to another one.

Now what are the benefits of one platform strategy? First of all it is much easier to build an audience on one platform. If you focus on that and sometimes it is better to have 1,000 people on one platform than 200 people on five platforms starting. Building your social presence is very difficult at the beginning but once you have social media presence on one platform and you have a lot of engaged audience it's a little bit easier to start on another platforms and translate that engagement to other ones as well.
Now number three from a practical point of view it's much easier to engage in one platform only and put all your energy to it and do it really really well. Than to do five platforms really really well. If you focus on one platform and you put all your energy you make sure that you're posting on the right time - right audience, right type of content and also you engage with your audience. You will see that your influence will grow much quicker.

Now what are the drawbacks of one platform method the drawbacks might be simply that you're gonna miss out on a part of your audience? Because what if your content is very visual and you present it on a very visual platform. But what if you could also present it in the video way not using all the possible tools. Of course might end up with you having a little bit smaller audience that you would otherwise have the other problem is that social media are developing very very quickly and algorithms develop and change very very quickly. So it might happen that once you crack this algorithm on your favorite social media something changes and all of a sudden you can't get into your audience as well as you would have. Otherwise so this is kind of putting all eggs in one basket kind of method. So in case anything goes wrong this might be a little bit problematic because then you're left with nothing to fall back on. So those are the two strategies that you will have to choose between and again make sure that you focus on quality.

If you have a possibility to deliver excellent quality appropriate for platforms across the board you can absolutely go and do that. But if you know that you are for example one person or two people's business and you don't possibly have time to do five platforms. Excellent focus on one and go from there.
